Paton-Churdan tells homecoming plans

Paton-Churdan will step away from a long tradition of Sunday evening homecoming coronations.

The 2017 homecoming queen and king will be crowned Friday, Sept. 23, at 11 am at the school.

A pep rally will precede coronation at 10:30 am.

A community/school-wide tailgate party will follow coronation. Parents and members of the community are asked to RSVP by Wednesday for the meal by calling 515-389-3111. The cost of the meal is $4.

The homecoming parade will be Friday at 2 pm in Jefferson, taking Chestnut St north to the courthouse square. The Rams will play Iowa Falls-Alden in football, with the freshmen playing at 4:45 pm and the varsity playing at 7:30. (Note: The junior varsity team plays Webster City in Jefferson Monday, Sept. 19, at 6 pm.)

Rocket fans are invited to pack the gym Tuesday, Sept. 20, for volleyball. The junior high team will play Coon Rapids-Bayard at 4 pm and the varsity team will host Charter Oak-Ute at 6 pm. Fans are invited to show their American spirit by wearing red, white and blue. There will be games, prizes, and activities for all.

The Ram jersey auction will be Thursday at 7 pm in the commercial building north of Clover Hall at the Greene County Fairgrounds.
