An small but appreciative group gathered Sunday at the Historical Museum to hear poetry written and read by local poets. The event was the fourth “Poetry Out Loud” hosted by the Greene County Historical Society and featuring poets of The First United Coven of Greene County.
Poets reading were (from left) Hollie Roberts, Mikki Schwarzkopf, Karen Voge-Perkins, Teena Toliver, Tori Riley, Nancy Hanaman and Lou Blanchfield. They read their own poems and those of Kathy Hankel, Bev Lehman, Lorene Conner, Chris Henning, Colleen O’Brien Clopton, the late Mar Smith and the late Diane Foster.
Chuck Offenburger served as emcee. “It was not only entertaining and inspiring, it was also important — helping to chronicle the history and spirit of our communities here,” Offenburger said.
