Hot August Night returns to the courthouse square and the surrounding Jefferson streets this Thursday, Aug. 11. All types of hot rods, trucks, motorcycles and tractors will be on display from 5 to 8 pm. Pre-registration is closed, but on-site registration will be available on the east side of the courthouse. There is no charge to exhibitors.
A $200 cash prize will be awarded to the visiting car club that brings and registers the most vehicles. Exhibitors will vote for a “Participants Choice” award, and one winner will also receive $25 in Chamber Checks. The winners will be announced at 7:30 pm.
In addition to viewing vehicles, the public is invited to enjoy ‘50s and ‘60s music and free watermelon donated by Fareway. Home State Bank will have complimentary cookies while supplies last.
The Greene County Chamber, Kiwanis Club of Jefferson and Hy-Vee will serve hamburgers, pork burgers, chips and water beginning at 5 pm. The BPO Does will also have homemade pie and ice cream available for purchase.
