So much fun in one week shouldn’t be allowed! The library was exploding this week with 4th of July crafts, Smell-O-Rama and “Kung Fu Panda 3.” We had tons of fun all week making 4th of July wreaths, lanterns and firecracker centerpieces (made of paper towel tubes).  Does your nose know? From bananas to honey, dill pickles to oranges and peanut butter to vaporub; would your nose know what it was smelling if you couldn’t see it?  Our winner guessed 10 out of 17 smells correctly! Thank you to everyone who came out this week!  Join us next week for Ninja Hide and Seek on Tuesday and Movie Day on Thursday!

Anyone interested in participating in the book club, please contact me at the library (by email, phone or Facebook page). We have multiple copies of two different books, “One for the Money”  by Janet Evanovich and “Mudbound” by Hillary Jordan.  We will start book club this fall and would like to  know how many readers we can expect and which book we would like to read and  discuss (while we eat treats, of course). ~submitted by librarian Katrina Buttler

News in and around Rippey

Kelsey Blanshan of Ankeny recently spent Sunday with her grandma Virgene Morse.  They spent the day going through pictures of Grandpa Morse’s service time in Korea. Delores Blanshan of Waterloo spent last week with her mom. They enjoyed their time together as they cleaned out the flower gardens, went through old recipes and visited with neighbors.
