In Greene County magistrate court a judgment was entered May 4 against William Hayes Guinn of Perry on a charge of assault-simple, amended from domestic abuse assault. Guinn entered an Alford plea. In entering such a plea, the defendant does not admit committing a crime, but believes that given the facts in the county attorney’s information, a jury would find him guilty of the crime. Guinn was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge. Court costs were $137.32.
