High school equivalency orientation slated

Iowa Central Community College will hold an orientation for new students in the High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) program Tuesday, March 18, at the Jefferson public library.

The program is for adults age 16 and older who have not finished a high school degree. Local instructor is Marla Orfield.

Classes will meet Tuesdays and Wednesdays, March 18 through April 16, from 6 to 8 pm at the library. There is additional online study time.

All students will prepare for computer-based testing to receive a HSED from the Iowa Department of Education. The program includes a combination of class time and online instruction in math, writing, reading, science and social studies, as well as keyboarding and computer skills.
