Greene County Extension will be hosting several continuing instructional courses (CIC) for commercial pesticide applicators throughout February and March. The training is required to be completed by the end of the year in order to maintain commercial certification with the State of Iowa.
Those needing recertification in Category 4 – Seed Treatment can attend the continuing instruction course scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 9 to 1:30 am.
An Ornamental and Turfgrass Application continuing instruction course will be held Wednesday, March 5, from 1:30 to 4 pm. Individuals can receive continuing instructional credit for this course if they are certified for commercial pesticide application in Category 3O – Ornamental Pest, Category 3T – Turf Pest, and Category 3OT – Ornamental and Turf Pest.
Applicators who are certified in Category H – Certified Handlers will be able to receive continuing instructional credit for the Certified Handlers course to be held Wednesday, March 26, from 9 to 11:30 am.
Additionally, Certified Crop Advisors can receive continuing education units (CEUs) for the Commercial Ag, Seed Treatment and Certified Handlers courses. Bring your crop advisor card to receive credit. Those requiring recertification in Category 10 – Demonstration and Research may also be eligible for credit from any of the above courses.
Pre-registration is preferred for the event. The pre-registration deadline for all sessions is by 4:30pm the day before the training, with a late fee charged for registrations at the door.
