Flower Power, tie-dye, lava lamps, peace signs and bell bottoms were part of the fun when Greene County first, second and third graders entertained their parents and grandparents with songs and “moves” from the 1970s Thursday at the middle school gym.
An afternoon performance was well attended, and the evening performance was standing room only.
First graders had the moves for the Village People’s 1978 hit “Y.M.C.A.”
The program ended with third graders all “shaking their groove thing” as suggested by Peaches and Herb in 1978.
The program was directed by elementary music teacher Susan Turner and elementary physical education teacher Lori Danner.
