The Community Players of Greene County are putting the polish on their production of “The Wizard of Oz,” with performances this Friday and Saturday, March 18-19, at 7 pm at the Greene County High School auditorium.

Playing named roles are Linda Nichols as Aunt Em, Pete Bardole as Uncle Henry, Samantha Hardaway as Dorothy, Michael Kennedy as Hunk/Scarecrow, Tim Pound as Hickory/ Tin Man, Josh Tuel as Zeke/Cowardly Lion, Laura Clark as Elmira Gulch, Darren Jackson as Professor Marvel/the Wizard, Teresa Cross as the Wicked Witch of the West, Danielle Johnson as the Good Witch, and Avery Bardole as the Oz guard.

There are also Munchkins, flying monkeys, mean-spirited apple trees, and Toto, played by Rhonda Kendall’s pooch Cracker.

Sheilah Pound is directing the production with the help of Anna Pound. Hannah Sundberg is directing the instrumental accompaniment.

Advance tickets for the Friday performance are available at Peoples Trust & Savings Bank in Jefferson. Saturday night tickets are available at Home State Bank, also in Jefferson.
