December coloring contest is underway.

The book sale will continue until the end of December.

All church offices will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

Washington Winners 4-H Club: The Washington Winners 4-H Club met Dec. 13 at the Rippey United Methodist Church for its Christmas party and monthly meeting. They discussed which family to donate money to for Christmas and every member donated $5. They introduced a new member, Landon Martin, from Grand Junction. The club was reminded that members need to attend one project meeting for beef, sheep, and pigs to show at the fair. The dates have not been set, but the Extension staff will set the date when it is closer to the time.  After the meeting they had pizza and pop for their Christmas party. The next meeting is Jan. 10 at 6 pm at the Rippey United Methodist Church. -Ashlyn Frederick, reporter

News in and around Rippey: Dale and Nancy Hanaman journeyed to Rice Lake, WI, to celebrate the 18th birthday of their granddaughter Adrianna Hanaman. As part of the celebration, Adrianna, her dad Matthew and sister Adyara and the grandparents attended the newest Star War movie in 3-D. Dale also provided a cherry pie.

Rippey area folks who attended the Habitat for Humanity concert and other events at the recent fundraiser included Connie Neese, Jan Friess and Dale and Nancy Hanaman. Danielle Johnson performed a solo, “O Holy Night.”
