JPD tells sTEP results

Jefferson police officers issued 12 citations and 42 warnings during a special Traffic Enforcement Program Nov. 22-29.

According to police captain Mark Clouse, officers arrested and cited one driver for operating while intoxicated. They issued five citations for stop sign/light violations, one for an equipment violation, and five for “other” traffic violations. They issued 14 warnings for equipment violations, nine for speed, six for stop sign/light violations, four for dark windows and for “other” violations, two for seat belt violations and not having proof of insurance, and one for a registration violation.

Officers also investigated one accident during that time.
