Jefferson Matters grant to Lawton Family Chiropractic

Lawton Chiropractic mini-grantLawton Family Chiropractic in downtown Jefferson was awarded a building improvement mini-grant from Jefferson Matters: Main Street. Dr Amber Lawton (center) received a check for $125 from design committee members Chris Heisterkamp (left) and Susan Fray (right).

The mini-grant was to pay for the removal of a window air conditioning unit located directly above the front door. The area was then covered and was part of the fresh coat of paint for the entire front area.

The Building Improvement Mini-Grant program is available to property owners/renters in the Main Street district for up to $250 toward projects such as painting, tuck pointing, replacement of windows and doors, or for the removal of non-conforming elements of a building. The design committee has budgeted $2,000 toward this program for 2016.

Grant applications are available on the website at www.jeffersonmatters.org or at the Main Street office.
