“Frozen” sing-along and “The Book Thief” at Sierra Community Theatre

SCT logoThe Disney movie “Frozen,” which delighted Sierra Community Theatre audiences in January, is returning as a 2-D sing-along version for a weekend run, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Based on a story by Hans Christian Anderson, the story tells of a search for Princess Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom in eternal winter.

Produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios; rated PG; run time 102 minutes.

“The Book Thief” will finish the week, showing Monday through Thursday. Based on the novel by Markus Zusak, adapted by Michael Petroni, the story is of a young girl who steals books in Nazi Germany during World War II. She shares them with others, including a Jewish refugee hiding in Liesel’s adoptive parents’ home.

Produced by 20th Century Fox; stars Sophie Nelisse, Geoffrey Rush, Emily Watson; rated PG-13; run time 131 minutes.
