Area high school students competed in the North Central Area Special Olympic bowling competition on Oct. 22 at Ridgewood Lanes in Fort Dodge. First place winner was Tosha Harvey. She will advance to state level competition in Des Moines in November.
Paton-Churdan student Kourtlin Thacker placed first in his division and will also advance to state competition.
Ian Jensen and Kelly Martin received second places in their divisions and Nick Walsh placed third in his division.
All athletes are divisioned by age, gender and abilities.
The Greene County athletes had practiced for several weeks prior to the competition at Sparetime Lanes, owned by John and Vicki Woodford. The team also was proud to wear new shirts created by ShineOn designs.
