The second annual Rock the ARC, held Sunday afternoon at History Boy Theatre in Jefferson, raised more than $4,200 for the Greene County Christian Action Resource Center food pantry. The variety show, organized by Outreach Ministries of St Joseph Catholic Church, featured talent from all parts of the county. Sue Wind was emcee.
Free will donations were accepted at the show, and a companion fund drive was conducted in the weeks prior to the show.
Home State Bank donated $1,000 to the food pantry through Rock the ARC. Other donors at the Banquet-Plus level (more than $100) were Junction Hilltop Wind LLC, New Way (Scranton Manufacturing) and CompuSense.
Donors at the Meat level ($100) were A & W Family Restaurant, Deal’s Orchard, Durbin Automotive, Hastings Funeral Home, Jefferson Dental Care, Vicky Gliem, Chuck and Dina Hastings, Kathleen O’Bryan and Tom and Sue Wind.
Donors at the Vegetable level ($50 to $99) were Addie’s, Fareway, Linda Bortz Jean and Doug Tucker, Kingsgate Insurance, Krieger’s Flower Shop, Ogren’s Custom Graphics, Peoples Trust and Savings Bank, Pizza Ranch, Unger Insurance Ltd and Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home.
At the Bread level (up to $49) were Theresa Durbin, State Farm Insurance, Angie’s Tea Garden, Tanya Betts, M & M Appliques, Uptown Café, Medicap Pharmacy, Town & Farm Realty, Farmers National Company, Jefferson Telecom, Tri-County Lumber, Judy Peacock Wills, Rita O’Bryan, Laura Clark, Rev Bill Brunner, Brett and Adrea Wailes, Curt Nelson, Glen and Beverly Hoyt, Fred Woodley, Madonna Woodley and Community Players of Greene County.
Three drawings were held during the afternoon. Naomi Mumuni won a pink yarn bombed bicycle, LaReen Fagg won an afghan crocheted by Linda Nichols, and Chanlynn Cunningham won a $10 Uptown Café gift certificate in a drawing for everyone who contributed a joke for Wind’s repartee.
