Greene County magistrate court, week ending Oct. 9

In Greene County magistrate court a judgment was entered in a case that was initiated in district court against Tonya Jean Wenger, 44, of Scranton. Wenger was charged with domestic abuse assault causing injury. The charge was amended to assault-simple and magistrate Rita Pedersen entered a deferred judgment. Wenger was placed on informal probation for one year and must pay a $65 civil penalty and $205.01 court costs.

Nicholas Anthony Balderas of Ames was sentenced to time served on a charge of public intoxication. A judgment was entered for $48 sheriff’s costs and $60 court costs.

Cases were initiated in magistrate court during the week ending Oct 9 as follows: Kimberly Marie Smith of Jefferson, theft-fifth degree (two counts); Janon Lezlie Olson Buttler of Jefferso, theft-fifth degree (two counts); Ann C. Lehnhoff of Grand Junction, accessory to a misdemeanor; Becky Kinyon of Boone, domestic abuse assault- first offense (two counts); and Matthew L. Ehlers of Henderson, KY, possession of drug paraphernalia.

Persons paid fines for scheduled traffic violations during the week ending Oct. 9 as follows: *Bryant Alan Kirton of Ogden, failure to carry registration card, $20; and *Mikayla Jo Hockenberry of Guthrie Center, failure to maintain control, $100.

Also, speed, $40 (6-10 over): *Corey Allen Dye of Toledo, Richard M. Drachenberg of Atlanta, GA, Matthew Robert Glidden of Audubon, *Tamara Jo Ann Smaha of Urbandale, Jessica Torres Velez of Jefferson, and Christine Anne Albers of Urbandale.

Speed, $20 (1-5 over): Sadie Joy Champ of Omaha, NE, Kerry Lynn Sturm of Carroll, Jacy Lyn Pannell of Lincoln, NE, and Eugene Frank Nelsen of Johnston.

Judgments were entered against individuals for nonpayment of scheduled fines as follows (original fine listed): Daimean Andru Canfield of Bayard, no valid driver’s license, $200; Aaron Jon Thompson, failure to secure child, $100, and speed, $20; April Lynn Hofbauer of Bayard, operation without registration, $35; Roberta Jeanne Ashby of Guthrie Center, Stephanie Ann Rimmer of Cedar Rapids, Travis O’Neal Brooks of Spanaway, WA, speed, $20; Fernando Carrillo of Marshalltown, possession of alcohol under age 21, $200; Brandon Michael Mitchell of Jefferson, defective or unauthorized muffler system, $20; Kyle Cuddy of Jefferson, failure to provide proof of financial liability, $250; *Alexandra Rae Swanberg of Fort Dodge, permitting person under age 18 to consume or possession alcohol on property, $200;

The judgment includes a penalty of one-half the original fine and surcharge.

Court costs were $60 on each citation unless otherwise noted.
