Ten of 13 runners set PRs in Story City

The Greene County cross country team had two medalists and 10 of the 13 runners set personal records at the Norsemen Invitational at the River Bend Golf Course in Story City Sept. 24.

Olivia Hansen medaled in 10th place with a time of 21:36.4, and Emily Finch medaled in 13th place with a time of 21:51.8. They were far ahead of their teammates. Other Ram finishes were Melanie Doran, 89th, 25:55.3; Solana Mobley, 111th, 26:45.5; Regan Lamoureux, 114th, 26:59.4; Emma Larson, 145th, 28:59.3; Emily Most, 146th, 29:02.3; Emily Bettey, 156th, 30:04.0; and Caytlyn Adamson, 163rd, 32:24.0. Doran’s time was better than her average but not a personal record. All others were PRs.

Kane Borgeson again was the first Ram to the finish line in the boys race, in 89th place with a time of 19:07.0. Other Ram finishes were Nick Killion, 119th, 21:38.0; Ben Wilkins, 135th, 22:08.3; Nathan Kennedy, 175th, 25:03.4; and Jacob Hueser, 189th, 29:24.3. Those times were personal records for Borgeson and Wilkins, and a season best for Hueser. Kennedy ran better than his average time.

Dallas Center-Grimes won the girls race with 23 points. Other team totals were Urbandale 98, Madrid/Woodward-Granger 146, Nevada 150, Gilbert 179, Bondurant Farrar 198, Saydel 208, Roland-Story 216, Colo-Nesco 218, Ogden 264, West Central Valley 268, Greene County 170, North Polk 283, and South Hamilton 319.

South Hamilton won the boys race with 102 points. Other team totals were Ogden 109, Bondurant Farrar 109, Madrid-WG 115, Nevada 135, R-S 144, Gilbert 185, Woodward Academy 189, Colo-Nesco 189, West Central Valley 207, Urbandale 253, Saydel 310, North Polk 360, and Greene County 412.
