JPRD tells winners in Ding Dong Dash

DDD 5K 1The Ding Dong Dash returned to the Bell Tower Festival as a timed event after being untimed last year, with 113 running in the 5K and 10K races and another nine people doing the 1 mile fun run.

Participants came from 28 Iowa towns and from Massachusetts, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Texas and Florida.

Overall winners in the 5K men’s race were Trey Thompson of Ogden with a time of 17:50; Josh Johnson of Gowrie at 20:05; and John Nagel with a time of 20:39. Thompson and Johnson placed first and second in the age 15-18 category. Nagel placed first in the 19-29 category.

Overall winners in the 5K women’s race were Jaclyn Rittgers of Gowrie with a time of 21:13; Jackie Cunningham of Jefferson with a time of 23:02; and Haley Hall of Jefferson with a time of 24:18. Rittgers and Cunningham placed first and second in the 19-29 category, while Hall won the 15-18 category.

Winners not listed among males were: ages 10 and under, Tyler Lightner, 31:01; ages 11-14, Nate Black, 26:50; ages 15-18, Logan Egeland, 20:57; ages 30-39, Zach Lightner, 23:53; ages 40-49, Marty Gruis, 23:36; and ages 50 and older, Bob Ray, 24:27.

Winners not already listed among females were: ages 10 and under, Makenzie Wahl, 42:20; ages 11-14, Tieryn Tucker, 27:08; ages 30-39, Dani Weber; ages 40-49, Patricia Jacob, 27:36; and ages 50 and older, Susan Fray, 24:43.

Overall winners in the men’s 10K race were Tyler Hostetler of Jefferson in 37:31; Andrew Hoyt of Houston, TX, 42:50; and Jeff Lamoureux of Jefferson, 47:21. Hostetler and Hoyt ran in the age 30-39 category, and Lamoureux ran in the 40-49 category.

Overall winners in the women’s 10K race were Nicole Happe of Jefferson with a time of 53:21; Bridget Hoyt of Houston, 54:40; and Jessi Riley of Rippey, 54:52. All are in the age 30-39 age cagetory.

Winners not already listed in the men’s 10K race were: ages 18 and under, Jacob Stephenson, 51:38; ages 19-29, Brandon Hagen, 49:08; ages 50 and older, Timothy Smith, 51:33.

Winners not already listed in the women’s 10K race were: ages 18 and under, Isabella de Ruiter, 1;09.41; ages 19-29, Brooke Smith, 56:37; ages 40-49, Dawn Taute, 56:36; and ages 50 and older, Jill Wanninger, 56:36.
