The American Legion, VFW, and VFW auxiliary are again joining forces in a fundraiser, with most of the proceeds earmarked for improvements and maintenance to the building at 109 N. Chestnut in Jefferson, and for community projects.
The Raise the Roof fundraiser includes a supper from 5 to 7 pm. The menu includes a choice of a lamb or pork burger, baked beans, potato salad, cottage cheese, cake or a bar and beverages. The Lamb Producers and the Pork Producers will be manning the grill for the burgers. A free will donation will be accepted.
The veterans are also raffling off pork bundles of 20-25 pounds, with at least three bundles available. Raffle tickets are $5 and are available at Complete Insurance/Farmers Mutual, Bunkers Dunkers and The Printer’s Box. Tickets will be sold until May 15, and the drawing will be done on Armed Forces Day, May 16.
