March was dry, and a little warmer than normal

March was much drier than normal, but temperatures were a mixed bag, according to data compiled by volunteer weather observer John Beltz.

Jefferson received no snow in March, compared to a normal 4.8 inches. Precipitation was just .14 inch, compared to the normal 2.16 inches.

Low temperature for the month was -4 degrees on March 1, March 5 and March 6. The average low temperature 24 degrees, compared to the normal 25 degrees. Record low temperature in Jefferson is -26 degrees, set March 1, 1962.

High temperature was 85 degrees on March 17. Average high temperature was 51.5 degrees, compared to the normal 46.5 degrees. Record high temperature for Jefferson is 91 degrees, set March 29, 1986.
