“All fall down” doesn’t have to be part of aging

Matter of BalanceSeniors who worry about falling are invited to a free course, A Matter of Balance, hosted by Elderbridge Agency on Aging.

The class is for anyone who is concerned about falls, is interested in improving their balance, flexibility and strength, has fallen in the past, or who has restricted activities because of concerns about falling.

A Matter of Balance is an award-winning program designed to help seniors manage falls and increase their activity levels. Participants will learn to see falls as controllable, set goals for increasing their activity, make changes to reduce their risk of falls at home, and learn exercises to increase their strength and balance.

Classes will meet Mondays and Wednesdays, November 17 through Dec. 10, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 801 W. Lincoln Way, Jefferson. There is no charge. For more information, call Elderbridge Healthy Aging program coordinator Kristen Taylor at 712-792-3512.
