Paton city election decided by write-ins

Vote 5Voters in Paton elected Brad Robey as mayor by write-in in the Nov. 4 election. There was no candidate on the ballot. Robey received 22 votes by absentee and nine votes Tuesday for a total of 31 votes. Steve Burrell received six votes and another 10 votes were scattered.

Voters also elected a city council member via write-in, although there was a candidate on the ballot. Steven Joy was named on the ballot and received a total of 25 votes – 11 Election Day votes and 14 absentee. Eric Geisler was elected with 10 Election Day votes and 19 absentee, for a total of 29 votes.

Results are unofficial until the canvass by the board of supervisors next Monday.
