LOSST renewed in every jurisdiction
There will be no new faces in the Greene County courthouse when elected officials take office next January. Incumbents Dawn Rudolph and Tom Contner were re-elected to the county board of supervisors, and incumbent treasurer Donna Lawson was also re-elected.
In supervisor District 2, Rudolph, a Republican, received 1,7657 votes (49.26 percent). Democrat Kevin Fitzpatrick Sr received 1,066 votes (28.72 percent) and Independent Shane Olson received 750 votes (20.91 percent).
In supervisor District 3, Contner, a Republican, received 2,092 votes (59.89 percent). Democrat Randy Monthei received 1,393 votes (39.88 percent).
In the treasurer’s race, long-time incumbent Democrat Donna Lawson got 2,368 votes (65.70 percent) and Republican Kristi Holz got 1,229 votes (34.1 percent).
Incumbent county attorney, Republican Nicola Martino, and incumbent county treasurer, Democrat Marcia Tasler, were unopposed in bids for re-election.
Voters in every part of the county except Churdan had on their ballots a renewal of the existing local option sales and service tax (LOSST). Voters approved the renewals by varying margins as follows: Dana, 10 votes yes/ 2 votes no; Grand Junction, 127 votes yes/79 votes no; Jefferson, 919 votes yes/591 votes no; Paton, 41 votes yes/19 votes no; Rippey, 40 votes yes/20 votes no; Scranton, 88 votes yes/62 votes no; and in the unincorporated portions of the county, 616 votes yes/484 votes no.
