A job fair for older workers is slated for Wednesday, Nov. 5, from 1 to 4 pm at the Jefferson public library.
The Experience Works Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP)is looking for applicants. The SCSEP serves persons who are age 55 and older and unemployed. Eligible applicants live in Greene, Boone, Dallas, Guthrie, Adams, Adair, Audubon, Appanoose, Clarke, Decatur, Lucas, Madison, Monroe, Warren or Wayne counties. A participant’s annual family income must not be more than 125 percent of the established federal poverty income guidelines.
Experience Works, originally Green Thumb, is a national community-based organization. Experience Works has grown to be the nation’s leading provider of training, employment, and community service for low-income older people. It administers the SCSEP with funding from the U.S. Department of Labor.
