Jefferson Community Betterment will showcase the refurbished Deep Rock gas station at an open house Thursday, Oct. 9, from 5 to 7 pm. The gas station, from the heyday of the Lincoln Highway, is located at the corner of E. Lincoln Way and Cedar St. “Old-timers” will remember the station as it was owned by Pete Garrity and Paul McNulty.
The crew of dedicated volunteers who have spent years working on the project will have the old peanut machine working and the AKTION Club will have popcorn. There will be other refreshments and artifacts on display.
“Come have some fun, share some memories, or learn about the good old days,” a Community Betterment spokesperson said.
