The Greene County Rams played Saturday in the Ballard volleyball invitational in Huxley with mixed success, going 2-3 in games and 4-6 in sets.
The Rams opened pool play against 3A North Polk (Alleman) and lost 12-21 and 16-21. The topped 3A Pella 21-18, 21-17 before going on to lose to 5A Johnston 11-21, 9-21. That put the Rams at third in their pool.
They played twice on the consolation side of the bracket. The beat 3A Knoxville 25-17, 25-11 but then lost against Pella in their second meeting, 15-25, 19-25.
Johnston won the tournament with victories in all 10 games. Johnson is now 14-2 on the season. The Rams are 6-7 on the season.
