JPRD plans dog obedience, kids’ coloring contest

Dog obedienceThe Jefferson park and recreation department will offer a beginning dog obedience class Tuesday evenings, Oct. 7 through Nov. 18 (no class Oct. 14) from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at the Greene County Community Center.

Instructor for the class is Linn Price, LVT. Price has decades of experience teaching dog obedience classes and can teach any willing human how to bring about better behavior in any dog.

Class size is limited to 12 dogs and their trainers. Trainers must be at least 14 years old or accompanied by an adult. Click here for the registration form: JPRD Dog obedience

crayonsJPRD invites children to show how “fun is abundant in the fall” with a coloring contest. The contest asks children to create a colorful drawing of their favorite fall activity. The pictures will be put on display at the Greene County Community Center.

Pictures will be judged in age categories: 4 years and younger, age 5-8, age 9-14, and 15 years and older. Prizes will be given to the top drawings in each age category.

Pictures must be on the entry form, which is available at the community center or by clicking here: Coloring contest. Entries must be turned in by Friday, Oct. 10, at the community center front desk.
