Registrations due by Oct. 3
Paton-Churdan will host a Color-A-Thon Saturday, Oct. 25, at 11 am. Organizers hope to raise $5,000 to go towards facility upgrades in the athletic department.
The Color-A-Thon is an 3K run/walk for people of all ages. The route will begin and end at the school, with a trek around Churdan in the middle. Throughout the course of the run, color-safe dye will be thrown in the air as runners and walkers go by in their white shirts.
After the run/walk, an after-party will be held with a DJ, games, and much more. A grilled lunch will also be available for purchase. Paton-Churdan will honor track record holders at the after-party of this event; those individuals will be contacted separately.
“We are one of the first schools in the state of Iowa to have a Color-A-Thon, so please come join us in the fun,” said P-C principal Annie Smith.
The $25 registration fee includes a white Color-A-Thon T-shirt. Register by visiting the Paton-Churdan website at www.paton-churdan.k12.ia.us or by calling the Paton-Churdan school office at 515-389-3111. The deadline to sign up is Oct. 3. Those who prefer to “sit out” the 3K run/walk are invited to consider sponsoring a runner or making a donation. Persons who have questions, would like to participate, or even volunteer, can contact Smith the above phone number or asmith@paton-churdan.k12.ia.us
