Sheriff’s report

Following are excerpts of activities reported by the Greene County sheriff’s office:

Sunday, March 8: At 7:11 am a deputy issued a salvage tag on 240th St near J Ave east of Jefferson.

Saturday, March 7: At 8:59 am a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on 230th Street near E Ave in Scranton. At 2:39 pm a deputy investigated an assault in Rippey.  At 4:32 pm Steven Jensen, 29, of Rippey was booked into the jail on a charge of domestic abuse assault impede air or blood flow*.  At 5:56 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of animal neglect in Washington Township. At 9:50 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 1600 block of N Ave south of Jefferson. At 10:10 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in Grand Junction.

Friday, March 6: At 4 pm Kenny Cather, 62, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on a charge of operating while intoxicated- second offense*.  At 9:32 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 300 block of N. 18th St in Grand Junction.

Thursday, March 5: At 4:21 pm a deputy arrested Brian Newton, 37, of Grand Junction on charges of violation of probation and interference with official acts*. He was later booked into the jail.

Wednesday, March 4: At 11:06 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 500 block of Madison St in Scranton. At 11:55 am a deputy investigated an animal neglect complaint in the 2400 block of U Ave in Washington Township. At 1:04 pm Kyle Habrich, 37, of Boone was booked into jail for a probation violation*. At 1:48 pm Ryan Schulte, 35, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on charges of theft- third degree, identity theft, and forgery*. At 3:23 pm a deputy investigated an animal complaint in the 1000 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 4:05 pm Edward Goff, 47, of Ankeny was booked into the jail for contempt of court*.

Tuesday, March 3: At 2:39 pm the sheriff investigated a theft in the 700 block of School St in Churdan.

Monday, March 2: At 10:07 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 2300 block of Sherwood Ave in Franklin Township.

Sunday, March 1: Routine activity reported.

*In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
