Ryan Greiner Named Inaugural SEIBA Outstanding Young Teacher Award Recipient
Ryan Greiner, 5–12 band director at Mediapolis Community Schools, has been named the inaugural recipient of the Southeast Iowa Bandmasters Association (SEIBA) Outstanding Young Teacher Award. Members of the Southeast District selected Greiner for the honor in recognition of his exceptional accomplishments as an educator with three to seven years of teaching experience.
As the district award winner, Greiner will now represent the Southeast District at the state level for the Outstanding Young Teacher Award.
Greiner has served the Mediapolis band program since 2019, where he co-directs the 6th grade band, 7-8 band, high school concert band, and the MEPO marching band, and directs the Mediapolis Jazz Ensemble. In addition to leading ensembles, he provides private and small-group instruction for students in grades 5-12.
Greiner is the son of Alan and Becky Greiner of Jefferson. He graduated from high school at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan in 2013, having attended Greene County schools until then.
The Southeast Iowa Bandmasters Association congratulated Greiner on this well-deserved recognition and looks forward to his continued impact on students and music education across the region.
