Chocolate Walk slated for Saturday, Feb. 7

The Jefferson Matters Promotions Team invites area residents to treat themselves to something sweet with Jefferson’s first-ever Sweet on Jefferson Chocolate Walk Saturday, Feb. 7, from 10 am to 2 pm.

This new winter event is a fun way to support local businesses while enjoying chocolate treats just in time for Valentine’s Day, a spokesperson said. Participants will stroll from shop to shop throughout Jefferson, sampling a variety of sweet treats along the way or saving them for a special person. “With 11 participating businesses, it is an easy and indulgent way to make a February Saturday feel special,” the spokesperson said.

Registration is $10 and is available online, at the Jefferson Matters office at 201 E. Lincoln Way, or by calling 515-386-2155. Participation is limited, and the deadline to register is Feb. 3.

Everyone who registers by Feb. 3 will be entered into a drawing for $100 in Main Street Money (formerly Chamber checks). Those who complete a punch card during the Chocolate Walk will also be entered into an additional prize drawing.

Registered participants can pick up their bag and punch card at the Welcome Center (also 201 E. Lincoln Way) Feb. 3-6 between 10 am and 4 pm. Bag pick up the day of the walk will be at The Centennial.

Participating businesses include The Stitch, Warm Wishes, The Centennial Cafe, Pickaway Americana Meeting House, Greene Goods, Country Blessings, More Time, Fudge’s Flowers, Vault Nutrition, Fields of Karma Boutique and Royal Jewelers.
