In Greene County district court David John Lehman, 48, of Des Moines was sentenced Jan. 6 to five years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a charge of theft- second degree aiding and abetting, amended from burglary- third degree. The prison term was suspended. He was fined $1,025 with a $153.75 surcharge. He was sentenced to five years in prison on a charge of burglary- third degree. That term was also suspended and he was placed on probation to the Department of Correctional Services for five years. He must reside in a residential correctional facility until maximum benefits are attained. He was fined $1,025 with a $153.75 surcharge, both suspended. Andrew Vernon Wempe, 43, of Scranton was sentenced to two years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of harassment- first degree. The prison term was suspended. If he ever serves it, the sentence will be consecutive to terms in two other Greene Country cases. Wempe was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. He was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge; both were suspended. A related case in magistrate court in which Wempe was charged with disorderly conduct- abusive epithets/threatening gesture was dismissed. In an unrelated case, Wempe was sentenced to one year in jail after changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine. The jail term was suspended with probation to Boone/Greene County Probation. If he ever serves it, the term will be consecutive to the term in the harassment case and another case. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge; both were suspended. Keegan Rowdy Steven Claiser, 27, of Jefferson was sentenced to 10 days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license barred- habitual offender. The jail term was suspended and he was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. He must complete 40 hours of community service. Gary Paul Sinkular, 56, of Jefferson was sentenced to one year in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of tatooing without a permit. The jail term was suspended and he was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. He was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge. Adrian Kyle Kerr, 23, of Parsons, KS, was sentenced to six days in jail, with credit for time served after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommendations for treatment at his own expense. Kerr was fined $1,250 with a $187.50 surcharge; one-half will be waived if he obtains a temporary restricted license. A charge of possess/carry a dangerous weapon while intoxicated was dismissed. Persons pleaded not guilty to charges as follows: Rebecca Lynn Chumbley, 42, of Grand Junction, possession of marijuana; Gunnar Stone James Star, 22, of Hobe Sound, FL, possession of marijuana; Zeke Xavier Star, 20, of Hobe Sound, FL, possession of marijuana; Sydni Jane Strauss, 25, of Stuart, FL, possession of marijuana; Kegan Rowdy Steven Claiser, 27, of Jefferson, assault causing bodily injury or mental illness; Jared Michael Bielenberg, 36, of Coon Rapids, possession of methamphetamine- second offense; and Jared Gabriel Glendenning, 20, of Churdan, operating while intoxicated- second offense. A trial date was set for April 7 for Chumbley, and for March 3 for all other defendants.
