Greene County district court, week ending Nov. 14

In Greene County district court Casey Roland Kennedy, 26, of Grand Junction was sentenced to five years in prison, with credit for time served, after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of threat of terrorism. The sentence was suspended, but he is to complete treatment at a VA mental health residential facility. He was fined $1,025 with a $153.75 surcharge; both were suspended. He was also fined $1,025 with a $153.75 surcharge on a charge of eluding at speed faster than 25 mph over the speed limit. That fine and surcharge were also suspended. Charges of assault on person in certain occupations- use or display weapon, and assault while displaying dangerous weapon were dismissed. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville0

Persons pleaded not guilty to charges at arraignment as follows” Phillip Harry Odin, 51, of Rippey, domestic abuse assault- injury or mental illness; and Barbara Jon Pergande, 52, of Webster City, domestic abuse assault- injury or mental illness. Trial dates were set for Jan. 27, 2026, in both cases.

Cases were initiated during the week ending Nov. 14 as follows: Terry James Groesbeck, 45, of Eagle Grove, possession of marijuana- second offense; Colton James Tate, 30, of Ames, operating while intoxicated; and Anthony James Nunez, 58, of Jefferson, domestic abuse assault- third offense.
