In Greene County district court Jeremy Wayne Alvis Beason, 27, of Jefferson was sentenced Nov. 7 to seven days in jail with credit for time served after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any treatment recommendations at his own expense. He was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge; the fine and surcharge were suspended. Brian Alan Newton, 37, of Grand Junction was granted a deferred judgment after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. He was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any treatment recommendations at his own expense. He must pay a $430 civil penalty, an amount not to exceed $350 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees, and $95.50 court costs. A case against him in magistrate court in which he was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. (Sentencing: McCarville)
Casey Roland Kennedy, 26, of Grand Junction was sentenced to seven days in jail, followed by mental health treatment, after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any treatment recommendations at his own expense. He was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge; the fine and surcharge were suspended. Trial dates were set for Jan. 27, 2026 for every defendant except Wagoner. His trial date was set for Dec. 9.
Arrest warrants were returned Nov. 7 in two cases against Wylie James Zellers, 22, of Hailey, ID. In a case initiated in April he is charged with Possess/carry dangerous weapons while under the influence. In a case initiated in May he is charged with operating while intoxicated.
