50107 Summerfest in Grand Junction this weekend

50107 Summerfest will be held Friday and Saturday, Aug. 1-2, in Grand Junction. Most activities will be held on the former school lot unless noted.

The fun begins Friday at 4 pm with the opening of the beer tent, Joe’s Old Fashioned Fun carnival, and yard games. Burnin’ Sensations will play from 7-11 pm.

Saturday is packed with events. Registration for the 5K will open at 8:30 am at Fouch Agri-Service with the race to start at 9 am. There will also be a Fun Walk/Run with Friends. A petting zoo will be open from 9 am to 3 pm. The Horizons group will serve a brunch from 10:30 am to 12 pm at the Community Center. The brunch is a fundraiser – there is a charge.

A parade will begin at 10:30 at 15th and Bennett and head west on Hager St.

 Joe’ Old Fashioned Fun Carnival and yard games will be available from 10 am to 10 pm. Jessica Bixby will provide face panting from 10 am to 5 pm. The beer tent will be open from 12 pm to midnight, with 50/50 raffle tickets available.

Vendors will sell their wares from 11 am to 6 pm. Some of the snazziest cars in the area will be in the Lions Club car show from 11 am to 2 pm An ice cream social and bingo begins at 1 pm and ends at 3 pm at the Presbyterian Church.

Brian Congdon will provide live music from 12 to 3 pm, with Jessica Heaning taking the stage from 3:30 to 6:30 pm. The Greene County Pork Producers will serve food from 5:30 to 9 pm.. Toaster will play from 8 to 11 pm. Several East Greene class reunions are planned as well.

Organizers hope to see everyone at the 50107 Summerfest in Grand Junction the first weekend in August.
