Construction of the new Greene County jail is on schedule. Sheriff Jack Williams had told the county supervisors during the spring that precast concrete walls would arrive in July. They arrived Monday, July 28, with three days to spare, and were put up immediately.
Ground was broken for the project March 17. The $10.9 million project is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2026.
