Mounds of unique and colorful day lilies offer a bright and cheery welcome to the home of Mark and Gayle Lange, 100 Briarwood Bend, the Jefferson Garden Club’s July Yard of the Month. The couple has traveled to distant garden centers in search of special daylily varieties. The clematis vines which bloom abundantly earlier in the summer are another feature on the east front of the home built in 2011.
A well-established mixed perennial and annual garden flourishes on the west side of the home providing lasting color all spring and summer long. Gayle is the primary gardener, carefully tending the numerous planting areas surrounding the home and enjoys introducing new plants to the landscape.

The Langes moved in 2013 to Jefferson from Nebraska and have owned this home since 2014. Their two sons, Joel and Stephen, live in Jefferson and near Perry with their families and farm with Mark in Greene County.
