The Isiserettes of Des Moines will be a feature group in the Bell Tower Festival parade Saturday in Jefferson. They’ll also perform following the parade at 12 pm on the southwest corner of the courthouse square, in the shadow of the Bell Tower.
The Isiserettes performed in the 2024 parade and on the square to the delight of festival attendees.
The Isiserettes was formed in 1980 and is composed of both males and females ranging in age from 7 to 18. Two major goals set for the youth before they’re accepted into the prestigious group are to build character and social skills. Adult leaders stress the importance of formal education as a condition for membership. Their appearance in Jefferson is sponsored by the Greene County Democrats as a service to the community and a salute to diversity.
