Award presentation this Sunday
A highlight of the annual Jefferson Matters Community Appreciation Event is the recognition of the ABC award (Above and Beyond the Call) recipient. Since 1977 exemplary local volunteers have been honored for their efforts to improve the community in countless ways.
“This award is selected by a team of previous ABC honorees and Jefferson Matters is pleased to announce that the 2025 ABC recipient is Pat Richards of Jefferson,” said Matt Wetrich, director of Jefferson Matters. Since 2013, Pat has served as Bell Tower staff coordinator, warmly welcoming countless visitors to the Mahanay Memorial Carillon Tower and to Jefferson.
Other organizations have benefitted from her “above and beyond” enthusiasm including the Bell Tower Community Foundation, the BOOST board, Jefferson Matters tourism committee, Greene County School Foundation and others.
A complete review of her many contributions to the betterment of Jefferson will be shared at the Community Appreciation Event on Sunday, April 27, at 2 pm at the Courtyard Wedding and Events Center in Jefferson. All are welcome to attend.
In addition to the ABC celebration and other recognitions, Clancy Clawson, Bridgette Heisterkamp, Bailey Mount and Lyndsey Wathen will be recognized in the 2025 class of Forces Under Forty. There will also be a presentation about Jefferson Matters’ highlights from 2024 and a look ahead at 2025. A dessert reception will be held following the awards and informational presentation.
