IA House minority leader Konfrst to hold public forum in Jefferson March 30

Iowa House minority leader Jennifer Konfrst will hold a public forum Sunday, March 30, from 6 to 7 pm at the Welcome Center at Thomas Jefferson Gardens in Jefferson.

Konfrst will make opening remarks and then answer questions from those in attendance.

Discussion will begin at 5:30, prior to Konfrst’s arrival, providing an opportunity for a “gathering of minds, with a focus on state and local issues,” Greene County Democrat central committee chair Susan Smith said.

Konfrst, 51, of Windsor Heights, was first elected to the Iowa House in 2018. She was the assistant minority leader in 2019 and 2020, and the minority whip in 2021. She has been House minority leader since June 2021. She is the first woman to hold the position. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in journalism and mass communications and a masters of public administration from Drake University. She worked for Iowa PBS for 12 years and is an associate professor of journalism and strategic political communication at Drake.
