Sunday, March 30: At 7:30 pm a deputy assisted with cattle out on D Ave near 170th St in Kendrick Township.
Saturday, March 29: At 10:05 am a deputy investigated a scam in the 600 block of 280th St in Willow Township.
Friday, March 28: At 11:49 am a deputy investigated an animal complaint in the 300 block of S. 8th St in Grand Junction. At 1:22 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 1600 block of 267th St in Franklin Township. At 2:51 pm deputies, Jefferson PD and Jefferson Fire, and Grand Junction Fire responded to a grass fire near Hwy 30 and Orchard Ave east of Jefferson.
Thursday, March 27: At 6:06 am a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Hwy 4 near Hwy 30. Neil McDowell of Scranton struck a deer with a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $7,000. At 11:40 am a deputy and Grand Junction Fire responded to a grass fire on Hwy 30 near X Ave east of Grand Junction. At 12:07 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a dog running in the 600 block of Hill St in Churdan. At 1:30 pm Richard Burkhardt, 55, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on charges of disorderly conduct and operating while intoxicated*. At 5:29 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a dog running at large in the 700 block of Hill St in Churdan. At 5:30 pm a deputy investigated a dog bite in the 400 block of S. 11th St in Grand Junction. At 8:38 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 600 block of S. 15th St in Grand Junction. At 10:07 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 800 block of Q Ave in Hardin Township. At 10:43 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 1200 block of W Ave in Junction Township. At 11:43 pm Damien Comstock, 29, of Eagle Grove was booked into the jail on a charge of driving while license barred*.
Wednesday, March 26: At 8:52 am a deputy investigated a complaint of a dog running at large in the 600 block of Hill St in Churdan. At 6:22 pm a deputy investigated a harassment complaint in the 600 block of N. 11th St in Grand Junction.
Tuesday, March 25: At 8:47 am a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 500 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 6:58 pm a deputy investigated a car vs turkey accident in the 900 block of D Ave in Kendrick Township. Khadga Budathoki of Ohio struck a turkey with a 2021 Ford van. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $2,500.
Monday, March 24: At 10:03 am Marcus Hildebrand of Guthrie Center was booked into the jail on a charge of possession of a controlled substance*. At 3:03 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 500 block of Sand St in Churdan. At 4:56 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 900 block of Head Street in Churdan. At 9:12 pm John Whitver, 20, of Glidden was booked into the jail on a charge of possession of alcohol under age*. At 10:56 pm Kaden Schneiderman, 18, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on a charge of domestic abuse assault*.
Sunday, March 23: At 12:02 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 500 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 10:56 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD in responding to an assault in the 600 block of W. Head St in Jefferson. At 10:56 pm Kaden Schneiderman, 18, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on a charge of domestic abuse assault*.
Saturday, March 22: At 7:24 am a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Hwy 30 at S Ave west of Grand Junction. Brianna Byerly of Jefferson struck a deer with a 2016 Chrysler Town and County. Damage to the vehicle exceeded value. At 10:35 am a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 1600 block of 267th St in Franklin Township. At 2:27 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 500 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 4:05 pm Jaimes Hernandez, 30, of Perry was booked into the jail on a charge of presenting a false ID card. At 4:08 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with responding to a domestic assault call in the 900 block of W. South St in Jefferson. At 4:08 pm Obinna Nwobodo, 33, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on charges of child endangerment, obstruct emergency communication, and domestic abuse assault impeding air or blood flow*. At 7:19 pm Chad Louk, 49, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on a charge of violation of a court order*.
Friday, March 21: At 12:17 am Heather Dobney, 38, of Grand Junction was booked into the jail on a charge of operating while intoxicated*. At 7:19 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of burning in the 200 block of 2nd St in Rippey.
Thursday, March 20: At 7:12 am Ethan Frye, 26, of Grand Junction was booked into the jail on a charge of assault causing bodily injury*. At 9:38 Seth Blumberg, 26, of Churdan was booked into the jail on a charge of assault causing bodily injury*. At 12:16 pm a deputy investigated an accident in the 400 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. Bonnie Forgerty was westbound on Main St operating a 2005 Dodge Stratus. Daryl Thompson of Grand Junction was operating a 2020 Ford F150 and backed into Fogerty’s vehicle. Forgerty lost control of her vehicle and struck a building owned by Dustin Fouch. Damage to the building was estimated at $4,000. Damage to Thompson’s vehicle was estimated at $500. Damage to Fogerty’s vehicle from being struck was estimated at $500, with another $1,500 in damage from striking the building. At 4:52 pm a deputy investigated a scam in the 100 block of W. Percival St in Rippey. At 6:54 pm a deputy and Grand Junction Fire responded to a hay fire in the 2200 block of Terrace Ave in Washington Township. At 9:49 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a dog running at large in the 700 block of Hill St in Churdan.
Wednesday, March 19: At 8:15 am a deputy investigated an accident at 130th St and Orchard Ave in Dawson Township; both drivers involved left the scene before the deputy arrived. At 10:13 am a deputy investigated a single-vehicle rollover accident on 130th St near X Ave Paton Township. Max Riley of Rippey lost control of a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado and rolled in the ditch. The estimated damage to the truck is $15,000. At 10:29 am the sheriff assisted a motorist in the ditch on 130th St near R Ave in Dawson Township. Between 10:30 am until about 5 pm the sheriff and deputies responded to approximately 20 drivers stuck on the roadway or in the ditch on the north and west sides of the county. At 5:50 pm a deputy investigated a report of power lines down in the 2200 block of 305th St in Washington Township.
Tuesday, March 18: At 1:15 am a deputy investigated suspicious activity in the 800 block of Percival St in Grand Junction. At 1:33 am a deputy investigated complaints of kids knocking on doors in the 700 block of North St in Churdan. At 8 am Aryanna Rank, 18, of Churdan was booked into the jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia*. At 2:07 pm Anthony Crawford, 60, of Churdan was booked into the jail on a charge of driving while license barred*. At 2:45 pm Beau Davis, 19, of Grand Junction was booked into the jail on a charge of violation of probation*. At 6:47 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of illegal dumping in the 200 block of N. 1st St in Rippey. At 7:30 pm John Roberts, 26, of Bayard was booked into the jail on a charge of criminal mischief- fourth degree*.
Monday, March 17: At 8:57 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 1800 block of 283rd St in Franklin Township. At 12:49 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass on N. 16th St near Sandoe St in Grand Junction. At 2:24 pm a deputy investigated a single-vehicle accident on Hwy 4 near 170th St in Hardin Township. Alexis Morgan of Gowrie was passing a straight truck and truck debris on the roadway, causing a tire on the 2018 Chevrolet Cruz she was driving to go flat. Her car entered the ditch and sustained an estimated $8,000 in damage to the vehicle. At 4:50 pm Michael Heinz, 32, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on charges of driving while license suspended, trespass, harassment- third degree, and a violation of a no contact order*. At 7:20 pm a deputy attempted to catch a dog running at large in the 400 block of Dudley St in Churdan.
Sunday, March 16: At 9:49 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 600 block of S. 15th St in Grand Junction. At 8:19 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 500 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 9:35 pm a deputy investigated a single vehicle accident on 270th Str near W Ave in Washington Township. Kadin Wolf of Rippey lost control of a 2019 Volkwagen, rolling it into the ditch. Wolf was cited for failure to maintain control and no proof of financial liability. The vehicle was a total loss. At 10:34 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 500 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 10:48 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 500 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction.
Saturday, March 15: At 2:34 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with an arrest in the 300 block of N. Cedar St in Jefferson. At 3:19 am a deputy investigated an assault in the 1000 block of E. Railroad St in Grand Junction. At 3:22 am Travis Heinz, 32, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on charges of disorderly conduct, domestic abuse assault- first offense, criminal mischief- fifth degree, and interference with official acts*. At 9:33 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 200 block of S. Main St in Paton.
Friday, March 14: At 9:42 am a deputy assisted an Iowa State Patrol trooper with an unruly child at the courthouse. At 11:18 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 600 block of S. 12th St in Grand Junction. At 11:32 am a deputy removed a dead deer from the roadway on Hwy 30 near S Ave west of Grand Junction. At 6:02 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 600 block of Eagle St in Scranton. At 6:07 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of animal neglect in the 500 block of S. 12th St in Grand Junction.
Thursday, March 13: At 8:49 am a deputy investigated a complaint of trespassers on property in the 2300 block of E Ave in Willow Township. At 9:36 am a deputy investigated an animal complaint in the 500 block of Jay St in Churdan. At 2:24 pm Orlando Love, 48, of Jefferson was booked into jail on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, False ID of law/public service officer, possession of a controlled substance, and malicious prosecution*.
Wednesday, March 12: At 6:07 am a deputy, the sheriff, Paton fire department, Grand Junction fire department, Jefferson fire department, and Greene County Ambulance responded to a rekindle of the residence in the 300 block of State St in Paton.
Tuesday, March 11: At 11:50 am a deputy investigated a hit and run accident in the 1100 block of Main St in Scranton. At 2:09 pm the sheriff and deputies investigated an assault, arson, and a pursuit in the 300 block of State St in Paton. At 3:47 pm the sheriff, deputies, and the Iowa State Patrol arrested Devin Hackfort, 28, of Paton for two counts of assault on an officer, eluding 25 mph and over, arson- second degree, attempted murder, and harassment- first degree*. At 6:33 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a dog running at large in the 700 block of 140th St in Highland Township. A small dog was taken to PAWS.
Monday, March 10: At 11:02 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 1200 block of W Ave in Junction Township. At 9:06 pm Chad Louk, 49, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on a charge of violation of a no contact order*.
Sunday, March 9: At 7:31 am a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Hwy 4 near 330th St in Franklin Township. Ashley Clark of Yale was northbound driving a 2017 Dodge Journey when she struck a deer. Damage to her vehicle was estimated at $8,000. At 4:26 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a dog running at large in the 600 block of Hill St in Churdan. At 5:12 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a dog running at large in the 1000 block of Hill St in Churdan.
Saturday, March 8: At 5:58 am a deputy investigated a single vehicle accident on 330th St near Brentwood Ave in Willow Township. Jacob Reiling of Coon Rapids lost control of his 2017 GMC Sierra and entered the ditch. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $12,000. At 4:18 pm Joseph Blackmon, 48, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on charges of theft- fifth degree, unauthorized use of a credit card, and a violation of probation*. At 1:47 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 1000 block of Fitzpatrick St in Churdan.
Friday, March 7: At 6:04 am a deputy investigated an abandoned vehicle on 140th St near K Ave in Highland Township. At 5:24 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 400 block of E. Paton St in Paton.
Thursday, March 6: At 8:52 am a deputy investigated a single-vehicle rollover accident on Hwy 30 and D Ave west of Scranton. Victor Fernandez of Des Moines was westbound on Hwy 30 and lost control of a 2003 Chevrolet Express van, rolling the vehicle into the ditch. Damage to the vehicle exceeded value. At 9:15 am Christopher Reber, 56, of Des Moines was booked into the jail charges of gambling-avoid setoff and fraudulent practices. At 2:40 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 1500 block of Neola Ave south of Jefferson. At 4:15 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a scam in the 1800 block of Hwy 30 east of Jefferson. At 5 pm a deputy investigated a dog complaint in the 1000 block of E. Railroad St in Grand Junction.
Wednesday, March 5: At 12:29 am a deputy assisted a motorist stuck in the 1000 block of E. Lincoln Way in Jefferson. From 2 am thru the rest of the day the sheriff and deputies assisted 62 stranded motorists all over the county. At 11:31 am the sheriff, county secondary roads, and Greene County Ambulance responded to a medical call in the 800 block of Eagle St in Scranton. At 3:44 pm the sheriff conducted a welfare check in the 900 block of J Ave in Jackson Township. The subject was brought to Jefferson. At 7:33 pm the sheriff and a deputy conducted a welfare check in the 1000 block of H Ave in Bristol Township. The two occupants were brought to Jefferson. At 8:38 pm the sheriff, Jefferson PD, and Jefferson fire responded to a fire in the 1000 block of W. Lincoln Way in Jefferson.
Tuesday, March 4: At 11:17 am a deputy investigated an assault in the 1000 block of 230th St west of Jefferson. At 12:16 pm a deputy investigated suspicious activity in the 1500 block of 265th St in Grant Township. At 1:56 pm Angel Valdivia, 60, of Carroll was booked into the jail on a charge of possession of a controlled substance*. At 4:28 pm Danyell Freeman 48 of Fort Dodge was booked into the jail on a charge of failure to appear*. At 7:04 pm a deputy assisted with a jack-knifed semi at W. Main and 10th Sts in Grand Junction. At 9:21 pm a deputy removed a tree from the roadway on N. 16th and Railroad Sts in Grand Junction. At 10:28 pm a deputy investigated a downed power line on Hwy 144 near 170th St at Dana. At 11:46 pm a deputy assisted with a jack-knifed semi on Hwy 30 and Grimmel Rd in Jefferson.
Monday, March 3: At 11:22 am Danelle Dalton, 41, of Madrid was booked into the jail on a charge of driving while license barred*. At 8:01 pm a deputy assisted with trying to locate a dog running at large in the 600 block of N. 9th St in Grand Junction. At 10:25 pm Johnathan Bohling, 44, of Hubbard was booked into the jail on charges of driving while license barred and operation without ignition interlock device*.
Sunday, March 2: At 1:59 am a deputy investigated a single-vehicle rollover accident on M Ave near 180th St in Greenbrier Township. Lori Blumberg of Jefferson lost control of a 2014 Ram 1500 and rolled in the ditch. Blumberg was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the vehicle exceeded value. At 4:35 pm Debra Coughlon, 70, of Gowrie was booked into the jail on a charge of public intoxication*. At 8:03 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a vicious dog in the 400 block of E. Paton St in Paton. At 9:11 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a dog running at large in the 1000 block of E. Railroad St in Grand Junction.
Saturday, March 1: At 4:04 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a vicious dog complaint in the 1000 block of E. Railroad St in Grand Junction. At 11:01 pm a deputy and Jefferson Fire responded to a reported natural gas leak in the 1100 block of Orchard Ave in Hardin Township.
