Greene County magistrate court, week ending Feb. 28

In Greene County magistrate court a judgment for a $105 fine with a $15.75 surcharge was entered Feb. 26 against Andrew James Jalas of Scranton after he pleaded guilty to a charge of theft- fifth degree. He must also pay $82.79 restitution to the city of Scranton. Court costs were $60.

Daniel Joseph Tasler of Jefferson was sentenced to seven days in jail, in addition to any time already served, after he was found guilty of violation of a protective order at a non-jury trial Nov. 13, 2024. The judgment was entered Feb. 26. He must also pay a $105 fine with a $15.75 surcharge. A hearing will be held to determine if he is able to pay court costs and restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees.

Eric Thomas Winger of Jefferson was fined $105 with a $15.75 surcharge on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Court costs were $60.

Cases were initiated in magistrate court during the week ending Feb. 28 as follows: Melissa Marie Rysavy of Scranton, violation of a no contact order, two separate cases.
