Ram bowlers take 4th, 6th spots in Denison

The Greene County Rams girls and boys bowling teams participated in a Monarch Baker Tournament Feb. 6 at Lucky Lanes Bowling in Denison.

The Rams girls placed sixth overall out of six teams and the Rams boys took the fourth spot out of six teams. The girls finished with 1,621 pins, while the winner, Lewis Central, had 2,681 pins. On the boys’ side, the Rams finished with 2,660 pins, and the winner, Lewis Central, had 3,016 pins.

The leaders for the year on both squads in the high game are Allison Fields with a 171 for the girls and Jacob Rumley for the boys with a high game of 242.  The highest score per game for the boys is Chase Fecher with 203.88 and Allison Fields for the girls with 144.21.

This week, both squads will be back in action as they will both welcome Carroll to Spare Time Lanes and Lounge in Jefferson for a meet on Thursday beginning at 4 pm. This action will be the last regular season meet for both squads this year.               

Both Greene County Rams bowling teams will then participate in the Class 1A State Qualifying Meet at Bowlero Bowl in Council Bluffs Monday, Feb. 17, beginning at 10 am on Feb. 17. Teams attending will include Greene County, Carroll, Harlan Community, Kuemper Catholic, OABCIG, Shenandoah, and St. Albert.
