Highland Medical Staffing in downtown Jefferson was a recent recipient of funds from the Jefferson Wants You Incentive Fund, an economic development grant from Jefferson Matters.

Funding partnerships with Home State Bank, Jefferson Telecom, Heartland Bank, Peoples Bank, Alliant Energy, and Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation for local economic development endeavors enable Jefferson Matters to offer four grant opportunities to any business or prospective business with a Jefferson address. A remote worker membership to Gravitate Coworking is also available.
Grants include:
–Jefferson Wants You Incentive Fund – up to $5,000 for business startup expenses.
–UPDATED! Business Growth Grant for Existing Businesses – matching up to $5,000. This is a newly upgraded grant that was up to $1,000, now is up to $5,000 for existing businesses that are looking to grow. The goal of this grant is to minimize some of the financial risk when introducing a new product or other forms of growth a business may be dreaming about.
–Building Facade Grant – up to $1,000 to assist business owners to improve the exterior appearance of their buildings.
* Storefront Signage Grant – a matching grant up to $1,000 to assist business owners in purchasing an exterior business sign.
*Jefferson Wants You, Remote Worker – A free one year membership to Gravitate Coworking, valued at $1,200 in downtown Jefferson – now located at 204 E.
