Elks lodge continues Christmas dinner tradition

The Jefferson Elks lodge will hold its 59th annual Christmas Day dinner Dec. 25 at 4 pm. A tradition that began in 1965, the Elks prepare and serve a traditional meal to anyone in the community. If you are alone, needing some community, or hungry, please join us for this event.

Meals will be served in the Elks lodge. Take-out meals are also available, as well as deliveries to shut-ins. The meal will include turkey, ham, mashed potatoes with gravy, green bean casserole, roll, and pumpkin pie.

The Elks request that anyone planning to attend please call the Lodge at 515-386-2106 and leave your name, phone number, and number of attendees, or number of carry-outs. For shut-in deliveries please include your address where the meal should be delivered.

RSVPs this year need to be in by Friday, Dec. 20.

This is a big undertaking and volunteer help is always needed and appreciated. Persons who can help deliver or serve are asked to call the Elks lodge at the number above and leave your name and number of helpers.
