Ram spikers receive All-Conference honors

The season has officially concluded for the Greene County Rams volleyball team and multiple players received all-conference honors.

The Rams closed out their season 12-17 overall and losing in the Class 3A Regional 7 Quarterfinal to the Des Moines Christian Lions 3-0 (7-25, 22-25, 21-25.) Outside of the first set, the Rams fought tooth and nail the entire match in an effort to advance but ultimately came up short. The Lions would lose to the Kuemper Catholic Knights in the Region 7 Semifinal.

All four of the Rams players to earn the honors are seniors and include Emma Shipley, Violet Reedy, Emma Ewalt and Payton Kokenge.

For these four, their last season as a Greene County Rams volleyball player was a successful one as they went 5-3 in Heart of Iowa Conference play and enjoyed success in the regular season. In the Heart of Iowa, Reedy was top five in assists, Shipley was top five in total blocks and kill efficiency, Kokenge was top ten in serve efficiency and Ewalt was inside the top 20 in kills in the conference. All of these stats showcased the desire and grit this team showed all year and their outstanding individual efforts.

1st Team All Conference – Emma Shipley

2nd Team All-Conference – Violet Reedy

Honorable mention – Emma Ewalt and Payton Kokenge
