Saturday, Nov. 30: At 5:30 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Hwy 144 near 190th St north of Grand Junction. Daniel Rurup of Gowrie struck a deer with a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado, causing an estimated $10,000 damage to the vehicle. At 8:01 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 200 block of Cartwright St in Rippey. At 10:15 pm a deputy investigated a domestic assault in Scranton.
Friday, Nov. 29: No calls for service.
Thursday, Nov. 28: At 5:02 pm a deputy investigated a violation of a no contact order in the 500 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction.
Wednesday, Nov. 27: At 9:53 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 700 block of School St in Churdan. At 10:29 am a deputy investigated a burglary in the 1500 block of V Ave in Junction Township. At 11:42 am a deputy investigated a domestic assault in Churdan.
Tuesday, Nov. 26: At 11:53 am a deputy investigated an assault in the 500 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 1:54 pm Austin Block, 25, of Ogden was booked into the jail on a charge of driving while license barred*.
Monday, Nov. 25: At 12:52 pm a deputy investigated a domestic assault in Scranton. At 3:07 pm a deputy investigated a domestic assault at the same address in Scranton. At 4:23 pm Andrew Wempe, 41, of Scranton was booked into the jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia*. At 4:36 pm a deputy removed an injured deer from the roadway in the 1200 block of 245th St in Jackson Township.
Sunday, Nov. 24: At 2:10 am a deputy investigated a noise complaint in the 1800 block of 283rd St in Franklin Township. At 3:22 am Gideon Vanwyk, 35, of Coon Rapids was booked into the jail on a charge of public intoxication*. At 3:31 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 200 block of S. 19th St in Grand Junction.
Saturday, Nov. 23: At 7:29 am Brooklyn Renshaw, 18, of Scranton was booked into the jail on charges of possession of alcohol under age, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance*. At 2:21 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a scam in the 100 block of Green St in Paton.
Friday, Nov. 22: At 12:38 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 900 block of Irving St in Scranton.
Thursday, Nov. 21: At 9:35 am a deputy, Jefferson police department, and the Jefferson fire department responded to a tractor fire in the 1500 block of 240th St west of Jefferson. The tractor was a complete loss. The cause of the fire is undetermined. At 1:30 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 800 block of N. 11th St in Grand Junction. At 1:32 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 1100 block of M Ave in Bristol Township. At 2:53 pm a deputy investigated a violation of a court order in the 1100 block of Livingston St in Churdan. Bobby Hunt, 45, of Churdan was arrested on a charge of violating a court order*. Alicia Ofelt, 37, of Churdan was arrested on charges of violating a court order and criminal mischief*. At 3:57 pm a deputy investigated a suspicious vehicle on Hwy 144 near 255th St in Junction Township. Jeremy Andrews, 36, of Jefferson was arrested on a charge of driving while license barred*. At 4:49 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 500 block of N. 16th St in Grand Junction.

Tuesday, Nov. 19: At 1:18 pm a deputy picked up a shotgun that was left behind at a marsh near 270th St and W Ave in Washington Township. At 3:29 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a scam in the 400 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction.
Monday, Nov. 18: At 12:37 am a deputy investigated a violation of a no contact order in the 1100 block of Livingston St in Churdan. At 8:04 am a deputy investigated a burglary in the 300 block of W. Percival St in Rippey. At 11:56 am a deputy assisted the Polk County sheriff’s office with attempting to locate a female in Churdan.
Sunday, Nov. 17: At 1:21 am Beau Davis, 18, of Grand Junction was booked into the jail on charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia*. At 5:58 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 200 block of S. 19th St in Grand Junction.
Saturday, Nov. 16: At 12:31 am a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 1800 block of R Ave in Franklin Township. At 5:58 pm a deputy investigated a burglary in the 200 block of S. 19th St in Grand Junction.
Friday, Nov. 15: At 1:03 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of domestic assault in Churdan. At 4:54 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson police department with a search warrant at 110 Sunset Dr in Grand Junction. At 11:53 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 1000 block of Fitzpatrick St in Churdan.
Thursday, Nov. 14: At 12:47 am Kenny Cather, 61, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. At 12:19 pm a deputy assisted with cattle out on 195th Street and Eaton Ave in Kendrick Township. At 2:11 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of dogs running at large in the 2300 block of Hwy 4. Three dogs were taken to the Community Animal Shelter. At 7:01 pm Sawyer Nelson, 20, of West Point was booked into the jail on a charge of transfer of a pistol or revolver to a person under age 21*.
Wednesday, Nov. 13: At 7:54 am a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on 235th St near Q Ave west of Grand Junction. Carol Sand, 76, of Grand Junction struck a deer with a 2013 Dodge Caravan. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $1,500. At 9:36 am a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Hwy 30 near S Ave west of Grand Junction. Tanner Lange, 34 of Jefferson struck a deer with a 2020 Toyota Seinna. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $8,000. At 5:25 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 200 block of S. 7th St in Grand Junction. At 6:20 pm Antonio Hatcher, 24, of Grand Junction was booked into the jail on a charge of domestic abuse assault*.
Tuesday, Nov. 12: At 8:08 am a deputy assisted with a horse out in the 2300 block of 250th St in Junction Township. At 4:13 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 600 block of North St in Churdan.
Monday, Nov. 11: At 5:41 am a deputy removed a deer from the roadway in the 1300 block of Hwy 30 west of Jefferson. At 5:53 am a deputy removed a deer from the roadway in the 1100 block of Hwy 4 north of Jefferson. At 8:18 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 1800 block of D Ave in Scranton Township. At 2:20 pm a deputy investigated a single vehicle rollover accident on 110th St and X Ave in Paton Township. Darwin Glade, 60, of Minburn fell asleep and struck a field drive, rolling his Dodge truck once. Glade was cited for fraudulent use of registration. Damage to the truck is estimated at $8,000. At 7:09 pm a deputy investigated an assault on S Ave near 170th St in Bristol Township. At 7:36 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 900 block of Irving St in Scranton. At 10:11 pm a deputy removed debris from the roadway on Eagle St in Scranton.
Sunday, Nov. 10: At 5:51 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Hwy 30 at Oakland Ave east of Jefferson. Patrick Woods, 77, of Indianola struck a deer with a 2019 Ford Escape. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $6,000.
Saturday, Nov. 9: At 11:19 am a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on County Rd E-53 near Kirkwood Ave west of Jefferson. At 4:50 pm a deputy assisted with a cow out on Hwy 144 near 170th St west of Dana. At 5:37 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 300 block of S. 7th St in Grand Junction.
Friday, Nov. 8: At 10:37 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 1400 block of Falcon Ave in Scranton Township.
Thursday, Nov. 7: At 4:16 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 1000 block of Fitzpatrick St in Churdan. At 11:19 am a deputy investigated a concern of a street sign down on I Ave and 140th St east of Churdan. At 3:32 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of illegal hunting on 230th St and J Ave in Jackson Township.
Wednesday, Sept. 6: At 8:03 am a deputy investigated a complaint of a domestic assault on Hwy 30 near M Ave west of Jefferson. At 12:57 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of domestic assault in the 500 block of N Ave in Dawson Township. At 5:55 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Hwy 30 near County Rd P-14 west of Jefferson. Kathleen Sudtelgte, 61, of Sioux City struck a deer while driving a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $15,000. At 6:08 pm a deputy removed a deer from the roadway in the 1600 block of Hwy 4 south of Jefferson. At 10:31 pm a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on Hwy 30 near K Ave west of Jefferson.
Tuesday, Nov. 5: At 9:17 am a deputy investigated a burglary in the 300 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 8:20 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of identity theft in the 200 block of S. 19th St in Grand Junction.
Monday, Nov. 4: At 3:35 am a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 300 block of 1st St, Rippey. At 4:54 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 600 block of Hill St, Churdan.
Sunday, Nov. 3: At 2:21 am a deputy attempted to catch a dog running at large on Hwy 30 near R Ave west of Grand Junction. At 3:11 pm a deputy, Jefferson fire department, and Greene County Ambulance responded to a two-vehicle accident on 240th St and J Ave west of Jefferson. Kathleen Shaw, 79, of Spirit Lake was northbound on J Ave. She failed to stop at the posted sign at the intersection with 240th St and struck an eastbound vehicle operated by Amy Cosentino, 35, of Jefferson. There were no injuries.Shaw was cited for failure to obey traffic device and failure to yield the right of way. Damage to Shaw’s 2012 Toyota Prius and to Cosentino’s 2022 Honda Odyssey was estimated at $5,000. At 3:39 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 800 block of B Ave in Kendrick Township. At 4:10 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 800 block of Percival St in Grand Junction.
Saturday, Nov. 2: At 12 am Jesse Edward, 41, of Fort Dodge was booked into the jail on charges of burglary- third degree and a probation violation*. At 3:20 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of animal neglect on Hwy 144 near 195th St north of Grand Junction.
Friday, Nov. 1: At 9:49 am a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on Hwy 4 near 210th St north of Jefferson. At 3:36 pm a deputy investigated a noise complaint in the 100 block of Green St in Paton. At 6:10 pm a deputy investigated a child custody issue in the 1100 block of Lincoln St in Scranton.
