Lamoureux new ISU Extension & Outreach director

ISU Extension and Outreach Greene County recently hired Jeff Lamoureux as Extension director. As Greene County Extension director, Lamoureux will focus on community partnerships and programming.

The county director position provides effective leadership and determines high quality, effective educational programs. This position serves as the council designee in providing administrative management and supervision of district programming and staff.

“I am thrilled to be named the next Greene County Extension director. I have always wanted to be part of the Extension family, so I am looking forward to new challenges and serving Greene County.  As a former Extension council member, I understand the value of these services/programs. I anticipate the transition into this position to be smooth,” Lamoureux said. “Lori (Mannel) has assembled an outstanding team and I’m ready to build on that foundation.”

Mannel, now ISU Extension and Outreach regional director, said, “We are very excited to bring Jeff in as our new Greene County Extension director.  He brings in a wealth of knowledge in educational programming, community partnerships, budgeting, council engagement, and staff management. He has also served as an elected council official, so he understands that viewpoint of Extension work.”

Lamoureux most recently was the director of the Iowa Turfgrass Institute and has previously served as the director of Habitat for Humanity and Jefferson Parks and Recreation. He is a graduate of University of Northern Iowa.
