Three honored with Children’s Champion Award

Teresa Lansman, Sherri Graven, and Jeri Reece have received Beta Tau Delta sorority’s 2024 Children’s Champion Award.  The award is given to individuals or organizations who provide outstanding and longtime service to the youth of Greene County.

For more than a decade, these three women have been helping the children and families of Greene County.

Lansman, who is employed at New Opportunities, oversees programs for heat assistance, a school supply and coat drive, registers families for the food pantry, and at Christmas helps families in need receive a food basket.

Graven, employed in the Greene County engineer’s office, helped initiate the Adopt-A-Family program and does fundraising, distribution, and volunteer recruitment. She facilitates a program called “Toys for Greene County Kids” by collecting or buying toys from donations from individuals or groups to ensure every child in need receives a toy during the holidays.

Reece and her sister started a program that collects gently used coats and purchased coats through donations for children in Greene County. She has been actively involved in the Adopt-A-Family program since 2010. Reece had a long career as a nurse at the Greene County Medical Center.

Beta Tau Delta is a Jefferson sorority whose mission, for more than 100 years, is to enhance the education, health and well-being of Greene County’s youth. Its donations are supported by local and area citizens and businesses during an annual fund drive.
