Greene County residents are asked to “turn Greene County purple” Tuesday, Oct. 29, to raise public awareness of domestic violence against women, children and men. The purple ribbon is a visible gesture of support for survivors/victims of domestic violence.
According to the Greene County sheriff’s office, deputies have answered 53 calls for domestic abuse and 25 persons have been arrested on charges of domestic abuse assault this year.
Purple ribbons will be available at Greene County High School, the Welcome Center at Thomas Jefferson Gardens, and the Jefferson public library.
